We now have access to an additional resource from Tumble Books. For many years, we've subscribed to Tumble Books - a collection of animated picture books, videos and materials suitable for K-5. Tumble Cloud Jr is geared for students in grades 3-6. More chapter books, audio books, videos AND GRAPHIC NOVELS! Click on the icon above to access the Tumble Books product of your choice. These direct links will automatically log you in. You do not need your Cobb Digital Library/Mackin Via credentials to access the resource from this blog post.
If you are on a mobile device, be sure to select mobile as your "language" from the drop-down menu in the upper right hand corner of the screen. You will be asked to confirm if you want the mobile version. Click OK or YES. After a few seconds, your screen should adjust to the mobile version. If you do not select the mobile version, you will get a white screen. Flash animation does not work on mobile devices. The mobile "language" is the non-flash version of the website.
Once you are in Tumble Books, simply scroll to the bottom of the screen to find a button so you can toggle to the other resource without having to log-in again.
Pretty cool, huh?
We held our first meeting on October 3, 2014. Students learned about how technology and engineering advances have impacted common craft items such as rotary cutters, scissors and pincushions. Students voted the Kai/Dritz pressure sensitive rotary cutter as having the most comfortable handle. Results of our informal survey were tweeted to DritzSewing, who later "favorited" the tweet. Club members also voted on the collaborative quilt we will make for Storybookquilts.org.
Club pictures and updates will be posted here on the Media blog. Links to all of the topics and projects covered at club meetings are in Mrs. Kent's Virtual Sewing Classroom.
